Try a stairlift before choosing one
The Ballymount showroom offers demonstrations of straight and curved stairlifts on real staircases. A visit lets you experience the seated journey and controls, rather than judging comfort from a photograph.
Try the movements in order: approach the seat, sit down, fasten the belt, reach the joystick, travel, swivel and stand. Explain any part that feels awkward. If a particular feature matters—such as a powered swivel or linked footrest—ask which demonstration model has it before travelling.
A relative or carer is welcome to help you remember questions, but the person using the lift should have the opportunity to try it. A showroom demonstration informs the choice; your home survey confirms the fit.

Bring these three things
Your questions: write down the movements or parts of the staircase that worry you.
A few photographs: show the whole flight, turns and doorways, taken from somewhere you can reach safely.
Your decision priorities: tell us whether ease of use, a particular timeline, rental or budget is foremost.
You do not need technical measurements or a chosen model. Comparing the feel of a manual and powered function can be more useful than memorising specifications. Afterwards, use the quote checklist to connect your preferred features with the proposal for your home.
From demonstration to home survey
A comfortable demonstration is useful, but the installation still needs planning around your stairs. The home survey considers the actual route, space and proposed equipment. We can discuss that next step when you visit or speak to the team.
